Artprojectsforkids.org – Art Projects for Kids

ArtProjectsforKids.org does not need all that much explanation — it provides arts and crafts projects for young children. The primary demographic is anyone currently in kindergarten or elementary school.

On this site, Kathy Barbiro suggests some interesting artistic creations. Additionally, kids can learn from some of her topics. For example, there are watercolor projects involving drawing a map of a country. This will help small children understand not only where they live, but also what other countries exist in the world and what they look like. There are Popsicle stick pencil holder diagrams, perfect for any dad on Father’s Day.

Some of the projects on ArtProjectsForKids.org get pretty creative. One project involves making a colorful quilt from watercolor paint that deals with the phonetics underlying the Creole alphabet. This may have a dual effect of helping kids learn about phonetics and language while also educating them about literacy rates. All of the projects attempt to be fairly multipurpose, similar to this.

In addition, ArtProjectsForKids.org features a section where interested parents and students can order what is listed on the site. People can buy PDFs of diagrams and instructions or add the actual, completed mural to their cart to order for later. There are dozens of topics and projects to choose from if one is willing to spend the money for purchasing.

Finally, there is a link section where the creator of the site refers to other blogs similar to hers. By doing this, people can explore others ideas if they are feeling particularly artistic or creative.
