Problem the startup solves:
Most note taking applications are filled with bloatware and a lot of other unnecessary features that don’t really belong in a notes app. Lokinotes aims to solve that by being completely simple by offering features such as zen mode, a simple user experience, and also the ability to have multiple tabs.
It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that most note apps have there, but that’s because it’s focused on minimizing distractions and allowing the user to focus on simply writing.
Progress and Current Status:
MVP has been launched and now it’s about iterating based on user feedback.
What is an Inspiring Story about the Startup?:
I’ve been working on Lokinotes for the past 3 months, and it’s the first startup that I’ve officially launched. Most of the other startups I’ve worked on ended up just never launching, because I thought no one would care about the product that I designed, but I truly feel proud about what I’ve built here, because it’s a product that isn’t perfect, but it’s enough to get the job done.
Taking notes, and specifically writing, has helped me a lot in my own career, whether it’s just keeping track of the things I’ve been doing at my job, or just journaling about the day’s work.
I never thought I would be in a place to build something, and finally release it, but I also know it’s a long journey ahead, and I’m willing to do anything and everything to make this successful. I know most people don’t believe me, and most people would expect me to to fail, but I know I can make this extremely successful. This is just the beginning.
What is a Company the Startup Looks Up to, and Why?:
A company that I personally admire is Disney. They built up such a huge empire, even though they had a number of setbacks initially. I think a lot of us have this misconception that the popular companies out there had overnight success when that isn’t true. Success takes steps, and progress is incremental, and it’s important to understand that before starting your own business or even a startup. Despite all the issues that Disney faced early on, Walt Disney persevered and kept on trying different things until things finally started working, and that’s the future I see for Lokinotes.
The Company in Four Years Will Be…
In four years, the company will be the known as one of the top note taking applications out there if not the top note taking application, and it’ll be done based on the customer feedback received, constant product iteration, and a good sense of executing on all the previous. It won’t be an easy journey at all, but I do feel like it’s something that I’ll be able to accomplish. In four years, I’d like to grow this company massively by really honing in on the features that matter to note takers.
