Do you guys remember Bluesmart? They were one of my first Killer Startups back when I started the column in October. For those of you just joining us (or if your memory doesn’t stretch quite that far back), Bluesmart is the world’s first smart, connected luggage. It’s totally trackable via an app on your phone, comes with a built-in scale, and automatically locks when you get more than a set distance from it.
Oh, and it also has a built-in battery so you can charge you gadgets on the go and it has a special easy-access pocket for your laptop so that you can easily get it in and out of your bag at security.
Since we first met Bluesmart in October, the company has raised more than $2 million from more than 10,000 backers in 110 countries. They were also named “Top Innovative Product and Service of 2014” by Forbes Magazine and “Best Travel Gear of 2014” by FastCompany.
Basically, they won the end of 2014.
