Commentt.com – Audio and Visual Messaging Widget

Commentt.comCommentt is a simple interactive multimedia widget that lets your site visitors leave audio or video messages on your website without leaving the page. Commentt’s idea is that, in lieu of the standard text messages normally sent between users via MySpace, WordPress, Facebook, etc, we can now use multimedia messaging.

There isn’t a lot of information on the Commentt site regarding the widget’s interface or customization options (none of the demos worked at the time of this review). It seems that you install the widget differently depending on what type of site you use; Facebook users can install it directly as a Facebook app, whereas WordPress users must download a plugin, and users of an ambiguous category called “Profile/Websites” must cut and paste the site’s script on to their site.

Commentt.com In Their Own Words

“Let your place be more interactive! Our free widget lets visitors place their own audio and video messages on your site, blog or profile!”

Why Commentt.com It Might Be A Killer

Functionality pending, Commentt could be a fun widget for personal pages and blogs. If it does what it promises to do, you’ll be able to communicate in a much more personalized way with your friends across your social networks and blogging sites.

Some Questions About Commentt.com

Actually, Commentt does not perform as it should. It wouldn’t let me install the application on Facebook, the MySpace install link was broken, the video demos don’t play, and the installation instructions which correspond to different page categories are vague and overlap (Facebook has its own category, yet is also included in another one?). The widget only has 8 active Facebook users since its implementation back in the beginning of September and did not receive positive feedback. It’s impossible to tell how the widget is doing on other social networks and blogging sites, since the installation either does not work or the Commentt user page does not exist. Disappointing at best. Commentt.com
