The Assoc. of Lutheran Church Musicians has published a website at alcm.org with special emphasis on the ministry and music of the ALCM. The website allows visitors to learn about the officers and staff of the organization and its history. Easy navigation allows guests to contribute support to the musicians and their work. A prominent donation link is placed in the header. Because ALCM publishes a wide variety of music and material related to Lutheran worship, the web presence at alcm.org offers visitors the opportunity to purchase or download series of audio and video recordings. The 1500 members of the organization use music as a ministry through publications, conferences and travel. Items available for download include a colorized edition of “The Role of Cantor” posters and guidelines for employment in the church.
Additional links to news and events are linked to with special consideration for the biennial conference history and e-newsletter archives. Since alcm.org is a membership site for persons within the church, an entire section with membership information, benefits, and downloadable resources is set up to make application and renewals easy. Once a person has established an active membership with ALCM, they can then login to the private members area and take advantage of the many added features. Membership in the community is taken from all of the major Lutheran body and is open to any musician or singer that shares the church goals. All policies of the company are available to members and guests, along with contact information. Membership allows people to receive the semiannual newsletter, monthly newsletter and downloadable materials, publications and recordings.
