WildObs (short for “wildlife observations”) lets people who have a true love for nature share their very best outdoor experiences. This application lets such individuals record their encounters, and make new acquaintances by sharing these with every other user of the site. New species can be discovered like that, and the aim of WildObs is to let people develop their very own wildlife calendars.
And it’s very interesting to mention that WildObs is actually a partner of the National Wildlife Federation’s Wildlife Watch along with other scientific studies that are devoted to extracting citizen science from recorded encounters.
Using this site is really a pleasurable task, as an elegant map is featured on its main page, letting you check wildlife, species and places in any country that interests you. And all the most recent observations that have been added to the database are spotlighted, too.
The WildObs userbase is mainly centered in the US, and that’s where most observations currently take place. But some European territories are slowly beginning to figure in the map.
