HereKid.org – Cities Supporting Classroom Projects

HereKid.orgA recently-launched website, HereKid can let us all know which American cites are the ones where educational projects receive the biggest donations and contributions, and which ones are in need of some serious assistance. It can determine that by looking at the classroom project and donation data which is featured on the DonorsChoose.org website, and be generating what is called a HereKid rank. This rank is arrived at by measuring both overall and some-funding percentages. And variables such as the completed projects per capita and the number of projects which are currently open are likewise taken into account. The best-ranked cities are then displayed on a chart that is featured on the website.

When I checked it out, the five top cities were Tampa, Memphis, Baltimore, Tulsa and New York. On the other hand, these cities that were in need of more immediate assistance were Kansas City, Garland, and Mesa.

And it must be mentioned that the site lets you do more than just know which cities could use a hand – it actually lets you lend them one. By clicking on any city’s name on the provided charts, you will be able to make a contribution to any of its currently open projects.
