Audioo.com – Where The Human Voice Is Archived

Audioo.comThis website has got quite a novel mission: coming up with the definitive database of the human voice. It aims to make that come true by collecting recordings of ever kind, and it has started by gathering together voicemails, often with hilarious results – many of the audio that is found within the site comprises prank calls along with calls made by people who clearly had stayed at the bar until the last orders were called.

As it stands right now, the database can be looked up by categories such as “Work”, “Legal” and “Funny”. And a very nice touch is that you can look for audio in your close vicinity, IE you can geolocate what you are going to listen to. This means that if you want to see which trends are taking shape in your city you can do it. And you can even get more specific and study trends in your neighborhood. And you can even go one step beyond and learn about trends in your street.

As I said above, the current incarnation of the site plays more a humorous role than anything else. It really has got the potential to grow bigger in scope as time passes, though, and I (for one) would check it back some time down the line to see whether that promise is fulfilled or not.

Audioo.com In Their Own Words

“Audioo (aww-dee-you) is a hilarious way to see what people are talking about in voicemail.”

Why Audioo.com It Might Be A Killer

When it has really taken off, the site will provide everybody with a true representation of the human voice and the way in which the language stood at different moments in time.
