CoFFEE-Soft.org – Maximizing Virtual Classrooms

CoFFEE-Soft.orgThe objective of this groupware application is to let teachers maximize their digital classrooms, and provide their students with the closest to a live classroom setting when interacting through their computers.

CoFFEE can be downloaded for free, and installed on any local network in just a couple of minutes and a handful of clicks.

In addition to all the obvious communication features that such tools always have, CoFFEE lets uses vote on what has been submitted by the teacher (or by fellow students), and take part of threaded discussions using the provided forums. Also, graphical concept mapping is made instantly possible. And the sharing of documents can take place with absolute openness.

As an application, CoFFEE is not only free – it is actually open source. If you are knowledgeable-enough and you like it in general, but you find it lacking in any specific sense then you will be able to do something about it (and benefit everybody else in the process). And CoFFEE is already available in five different languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch.
