BabelXL.com – A New Online Translator

BabelXL.comThis is a new online translator that is humbly self-described as the “best online translator”. Nothing like a little bit of self-belief, I guess.

It does have the very interesting feature of letting you translate texts without having to observe a limit of characters. You simply cut what you want translated, then, and paste it away on the provided box. You can translate a piece of haiku poetry, or Dylan’s entire “Hurricane”. Since there is no limit of characters at all, you will do it in one fell swoop, and without having to split the text in lesser chunks and copying and pasting them individually.

Another nice feature is that a virtual keyboard is featured for you to input words in languages such as Arabic, Japanese and Swedish. That is all the more compelling because not everybody has the relevant set of characters installed. Only someone who studies languages in earnest would.

So, this is yet another valid option when it comes to getting any text rendered in a different language. It definitely has more hits than misses, and I think I might check it again in the future should other translation services leave me scratching my chin.
