As useful as Spotify is for listening to you favourite songs wherever you are located, some have (justly) complained that it doesn’t make that easy learning to what other people are listening to, and that the true social potential of the site is somehow diluted owing to it. Well, it turns out that people have done something more than merely complaining about that – an application to tackle that shortcoming named Shared Playlists has just been released.
It is as simple and straightforward as you could expect it to be – it lets you share your playlists, and also collaborate with others in order to create something new together.
The way in which playlists are found involves looking new artists up both by genre and by period. In the first case, almost 20 of the most representative genres are featured and that includes Rock, Pop, Electronica, Dance and Country. And as far as periods are concerned, these include “Before 1900” and then a decade by decade rundown. Recent playlists are likewise highlighted on the main page, so that is another way you can find some good music to try out.
