WordIs.net – Every Word Has Its Own Story

WordIs.netWords can mean something entirely different to each person. It is not just a matter of definitions, but rather a matter of affective values.

The word “train” might fill a person with joy because it makes him think back of the days of his youth in which he travelled with his family by train every summer in order to have a month-long, idyllic vacation. And the same word can fill other people with dread since it reminds them of the departure of a loved one. In both cases, we are talking about the same word. But the actual weight it has for different people couldn’t be more different.

This site is up for a lot of different ruminations, then. In essence, here people can provide everybody with their take on different words. When you first land on it you will see a big window asking you to define a random word. For example, when I visited the site the word I was faced with was “Paradise”.

The only requisite in order to use the site is signing up beforehand. Once you have done that, you are free to start posting your own opinions and comments. The registration process is free, of course.
