Lamaze.org – Resources For Pregnant Women

Lamaze.orgLamaze International is a non-lucrative organization that has the aim of promoting and supporting normal birth via education and public-awareness campaigns. As the site itself explains, a “normal” birth is the one that unfolds in a natural manner, without the need of unnecessary interventions.

Lamaze bases its stance on the “Six Care Practices that Support Normal Birth”. These are practices that have been adapted from the ones that the World Health Organization advocates for. Other sections that make up the site include the “Institute for Normal Birth”, an institute that has the aim of providing both expectant parents and childbirth professionals with normal birth information. To these ends, a series of materials can be procured online. These include the Care Practice Paper Series, a set of research summaries for normal birth, and links to the aptly-titled “Normal Birth” forum. In addition to that, the site includes organizational tools that are geared towards birth networks within different communities. Lamaze.org
