Kreg Tool Company had its origins when woodworking and metalworking collided in a home renovation project .The result of said experiment is what we know nowadays as Pocket Hole Technology, an euphemism for a system that entails drilling a hole at an angle into one workpiece and then joining it to a second workpiece by means of a self-tapping screw.

This system has evolved considerably, and it was joined in the year 2003 by a line of products that go by the name of Precision Measuring Systems, which includes a Precision Milter Gauge, a Precision Band Saw Fence and a set of tools that is named Precision Trak and Stop Kit.
