DCIYC.com – Delaware Inter-Tribal Youth Council

DCIYC.comThe Inter-Tribal Youth Council of Delaware County can be found online at DCIYC.com.

As the website itself explains, said institution is a community-based youth council which is affiliated with the Oklahoma-based United National Indian Tribal Youth organization. The aim of the Council is to provide the American Indian youth with an understanding of their heritage and roots. This is achieved by means of weekly meetings where lessons on Indian singing, dancing and drumming are imparted along with several other inter-tribal activities. The council holds numerous cultural presentations thorough its four state area, and there is also a pow-wow contest which is held every year. The awards include scholarships and prize money. All of the above-mentioned activities and endeavors are listed and described on the Council’s site, and there is also a section which is geared towards those who wish to volunteer their services and strengthen the cultural knowledge of Indian youth.
