CookBookWiki is an open source cookbook that can be edited by anyone. The objective of the site is to document the culinary traditions of different cultures around the world, and preserve them for the use and benefit of future generations.
As it is explained on the “Mission” page, the information contained on the CookBookWiki can not only enrich and promote the understanding among cultures, but also the quality of life itself. The recipes that can be found span several levels, and range from national and regional traditions such as Kashmiri from the India, to personal recipes and traditions that are inherent to families who wish to have their traditions recorded online for posterity. So far, the project is in English, but there are plans to expand it into other languages, so that those who are not proficient when it comes to English can still contribute their own recipes for others to read and try out.
