My, the imagination of some people… Kick To Pick is a new iPhone app that lest parents-to-be pick the name of their unborn child in the most original way of all. In essence, this is an application that enables the baby himself to choose his name. How? Simply-enough by kicking. The woman has to place the iPhone on her baby bump, and then by using the built-in accelerometer the app detects movements and scrolls through a list of potentially-suitable names, settling on the one that reflects the nature of the kick better.

My hat is off to the person who thought this up (one Nathan Parks). It is novel, it is unique, it is tons of fun. But is it useful? Mmmh, that remains to be seen. One can but wonder how much of a good idea it was to make it a paid application. Granted, the price is negligible. But it is a price to be paid nonetheless. Still, nothing could ever, never take from how original the application is, and how much of a unique tool it presents itself as.
