    WallStreetIdol.com - Online Paper Trading

    wallstreetidol

WallStreetIdol is very cleverly designed, the page is very appealing to look at, the logo uses skyscrapers to spell out idol, and the site is designed to look like the front page of a financial newspaper. On Wall Street Idol, an investor can start "paper trading" trading and tracking with virtual money, not using his own, or anyone's for that matter, for the sake of getting accustomed to trading and the way they want to while still in a practicing environment with really nothing to lose. A trader can register for free to be in contests that the website puts on and test their predicting and trading skills against their friends and others that are signed up to use the service. The results are tracked and ranked on the site.

    In their own words

"WallStreetIdol.com is an investor competition using fictional money with investment decisions judged according to actual market results. This type of fictional investing is commonly called "Paper Trading". We are dedicated to identifying talented investors and providing a forum where less experienced investors can learn by observing others and developing their own skills and style without risking actual invesment capital."

Why it might be a killer

This is a great way for an aspiring investor to hone their skills at trading without having their life savings at stake while they are still developing their style and learning. This can be a great place to network with other investors and discover their strategies and discuss why they work or don't work.

    Some questions

The site operates on a 15 minute delay from the market right now which could make a difference in how the trades are scored for some traders. The site is currently monetized only through Google Adwords, will that generate enough clicks to be a lucrative business?
