In their own words
Vator.TV is a place where entrepreneurs can share their ideas with the rest of the world through video. We provide a platform for innovators in all fields of industry and from around the world to be showcased, benefiting from the opportunity to reach others that might contribute to their success. The people behind any company are the main reasons why a company succeeds, fails, or receives funding. The video elevator pitch enables people to introduce themselves and their team in a personal way and to reach a worldwide audience. The video pitch is also a more powerful means for entrepreneurs to demonstrate their business which can often be based on abstract concepts. We hope that the personal stories behind the ideas will not only entertain the audience but also encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to take that leap of faith. We also invite entrepreneurs to share stories about their previous business ventures or provide updates about new developments, partnerships, services or products of their companies. Our viewer rating system allows users to receive feedback on their own ideas as well as to provide feedback to others. Even if you"re not sharing your pitches we welcome your industry expertise (in video or text), votes and comments about a company"s prospects.
Why it might be a killer
Started by a veteran commentator of the web and supported by big names in the industry (such as former executives and investors from Intermix, Google, Shopping.com and Paypal), the founder obviously made a successful pitch herself to get initial capital. And, given the growing field of investors for internet companies, this idea seems to fill a expanding niche.
Some questions
Will venture capitalists and other investors go to an online site to see random pitches by anyone? Will those with private investors post their pitch here as opposed to just sending a video privately by email? How are they planning on making a profit?
