Vator.TV - Pitch Your Idea by Video

Founded by Bambi Francisco, the former MarketWatch columnist who wrote about the internet, Vator.TV is a site where entrepreneurs can pitch their ideas in video, Powerpoint or other types of documents. They can then upload it to Vator.TV and allow it to be seen publicly or privately (where chosen investors can then view the pitch). The site is new and the design bland, but they promise to unveil a new site soon. Also, when I tried to download a video my computer shut down. But, they are allowed some glitches at this early phase and the idea of allowing entrepreneurs to post their pitches seems like a good idea. The company also has big names behind it, including the former executive of MySpace. The site could certainly save a lot of time and money for both the entrepreneur and the potential investor with this first screening opportunity. Similar to many other buyer/seller type web services, Vator.TV allows the public to rate pitches and help certain ideas rise to the top and sponsors competitions.

And, given the growing field of investors for internet companies, this idea seems to fill a expanding niche.

Will venture capitalists and other investors go to an online site to see random pitches by anyone? Will those with private investors post their pitch here as opposed to just sending a video privately by email? How are they planning on making a profit?
