PeoplesMusicStore.com - Have Your Own Music Store

    peoplesmusicstore

How knowledgeable are you as regards your favorite music? Come to it, do you think you could advertise it and actually sell it over the web? If you think you could do it, this new DIY solution is going to make your day.

Essentially, this “music store powered by music fans” lets users set up an online record store of their own featuring a wide selection of Indie albums. Each user reviews and comments these albums, and then earns points every time he makes an actual sale. The points that are accrued this way can later on be redeemed onsite.

A good and a bad point (according to your perception) is that only Indie artists are featured. That is good inasmuch the site acts as good window of discovery, and it is bad because (far) too many people are only interested in the latest Little Wayne or Bruce Springsteen album. No insult to them, of course – they are class A artists that should be well-represented in every music collection. My point is that it is good to look around a little every now and then. The sole exception to this limited choice of artists are bands like Oasis and The Pixies, for the simple fact that they have released albums on Indie labels.

Those who read KillerStartups regularly know how keen I am on every music-related service that surfaces. This one passes the test with flying colors, not because there is a phenomenal range of music to choose from, but simply because it gives fans a compelling platform for interacting with others.

    In their own words

“Discover and buy the best music, recommended by fans like you.”

Why it might be a killer

Indie music lovers are certain to relish the chance to promote the bands they like and earn something at the same time.

    Some questions

How long does it actually take for a store to be created?
