In their own words
"LifeTrack, LLC was formed to provide the service of securing an individuals personal information. Our founders include a medical doctor and a biotechnology specialist who recognized the need for the tools and the services to secure personal information. While other companies have focused on the tools, such as software and hardware that are used to collect and secure your personal data, LifeTrack has focused on helping you use those tools."
Why it might be a killer
Many companies are providing the tools for people to create their own Personal Health Records (PHR), but LifeTrack is one of the only companies that will collect the records and actually create the PHR for the client. This opens up the LifeTrack products to clients who are not comfortable using computers. Only 60% of Americans believe on-line electronic medical records benefits outweigh the privacy risks. Americans, particularly seniors are demanding access to their medical records, but are reluctant to store them online. Our seniors take an average of 28 prescription drugs. Only ½ of the 40 Million seniors are online. 41% of American 42-61 year olds with living parents are providing them care. Seniors fear loss of independence 10 times as much as death. 26% of 42-61 year old adults with living parents take off work to provide care for a parent. LifeTrack will be initially launched as a high-end medical identification card targeted at seniors and their caring children. Regardless of a senior’s arrangements, it is important that their adult child have peace of mind about their safety. No one can be expected to communicate 28 prescriptions in a crisis. The LifeTrack EMID Card allows the adult child to have peace of mind and senior to maintain the control. All of their records fit in their wallet.
Some questions
The basic package is not suitable for the elderly who are not comfortable with computers. Since price is an issue for many elderly citizens (the target audience for the product) how will they be able to get the assistance they need? Will prices for the full service be lowered in order to accomodate this sector?
