FindToto.com - Find Your Pet Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Has Fido hightailed it to another zip code? Perhaps this time, instead of posting those Xeroxed flyers around your neighborhood, you could check out what FindToto.com has to offer. FindToto lets you call in your pet’s info (name, description, where lost, last seen date, etc) and in turn makes calls to alert every household in your neighborhood that your pet has gone AWOL. You decide on the number of neighbors you wish to have notified of your pet’s absence, and FindToto.com processes your pet’s info and delivers it in an automated voice message. If a neighbor does not pick up the phone, the message will be automatically forwarded to their answering machine. You can also opt to submit your request online. The service naturally costs money, and you can purchase packages ranging from US $50 to US $250, depending on the number of neighbors you want FindToto to call for you.

  In their own words

“FindToto is a new and proactive search system to reunite missing/lost pets with their owners. In addition to our neighborhood alert system we have a database of lost pets specific to your area. In viewing “Lost Pet Tips” on any website, you will see that notifying your neighbors is at the top of the list. In the amount of time it takes to door knock your entire neighborhood, FindToto could be calling 1000’s of your neighbors and surrounding areas. We all know that time is of the essence in bringing your beloved friend home”.

Why it might be a killer

FindToto could be a more efficient alternative than flyering or making the phone calls yourself, especially if you live in a densely populated neighborhood.

  Some questions

I’m not sure how effective an automated message would be; I would imagine that many people would hang up the phone the second they realized that it wasn’t a human voice on the other line. The packages seem pretty expensive; is someone really going to shell out almost $300 to have 6,000 of their neighbors called? I’m just not convinced this is a feasible idea. The site might want to feature testimonials to back up its legitimacy and effectiveness

I just got a phone call from these jerks. I hung up ASAP. Put up flyers and don't annoy your neighbors on the Federal Do Not Call List.
