You decide on the number of neighbors you wish to have notified of your pet’s absence, and FindToto.com processes your pet’s info and delivers it in an automated voice message. If a neighbor does not pick up the phone, the message will be automatically forwarded to their answering machine. You can also opt to submit your request online. The service naturally costs money, and you can purchase packages ranging from US $50 to US $250, depending on the number of neighbors you want FindToto to call for you.

I’m not sure how effective an automated message would be; I would imagine that many people would hang up the phone the second they realized that it wasn’t a human voice on the other line. The packages seem pretty expensive; is someone really going to shell out almost $300 to have 6,000 of their neighbors called? I’m just not convinced this is a feasible idea.
