    DiscountShuffle.com - Find Discounts Differently

    discountshuffle

This German startup (launched in September 2009) is geared towards those who like to hunt for discounts online, and want to have a little fun in the process. That is, the dynamics of the website mean that a “random” element weighs heavily on the way discounts can be found.

The way it works is actually quite simple: online retailers are able to register one or several links at the site. These are added to a pool of links, and those who visit the site are taken to a link from the pool that has been randomly shuffled. By following that link, they will navigate straight to the online shop

DiscountShuffle, then, offers advantages for both users and retailers, or at the very least provides a setting in which buying and advertising is placed in a more entertaining light. Users have a centralized spot where they know they can procure a never-ending array of discounts, and they can also explore new shops and find new items that can be procured at discount prices. For its part, shops can advertise what they do and sell in a concept that is quite refreshing and target an audience that is receptive from the word “go”, and that is more willing to make a purchase than a regular visitor.

    In their own words

“Discountshuffle is a privately funded startup located in Germany with the founders located in Germany, Spain and Switzerland. The idea came about when trying to find an online directory of discounts offered by online shops. Discountshuffle aims at bringing together visitors and online shops offering sales and promotions on products. Visitors are able to explore numerous new shops simply by clicking the barcode on the front page whereas online shops can advertise to customers willing to spend money directly."

Why it might be a killer

It stands as a portal that lets online shops advertise discounted products to users that are actively on the lookout to make a deal on their next purchase.

    Some questions

What features could be added in order to make the process become something in which the user can exert a bigger control if so he wishes?
