    Chef's Resource.com - Great Kitchen Store

    chefsresource

Chef's Resource has been a high-end retailer online since 1999; they just wrapped up their 9th Christmas season. They carry a deep selection of top quality cookware, knives and gadgets aimed at the serious home chef. They also do get purchases from professionals but primarily the target is "foodie" consumers. Some examples include All Clad cookware, Le Creuset cookware and Staub cookware. Some cutlery brands include Shun knives, Global knives and Wusthof knives. Chef's Resource has an unusually deep selection in core categories of cutlery and cookware. For instance, every piece of All-Clad cookware is stocked, more than 300 pieces. Le Creuset, 300 pieces.

    In their own words

"This store was founded in 1999 to provide the best quality tools for gourmets.
We do not have a paper catalog The website is our "catalog". We hope you enjoy the site!"

Why it might be a killer

They stock a number of exclusives that are not available anywhere else in the U.S. They've received numerous mentions as a source for cooking products, including a very nice review in the most recent Zagat shopping guide: "Most everything you need for your kitchen can be found through this easy to deal with online cookware specialist, whose amazing, well laid out selection spans cookware, cutlery, small appliances and every imaginable tool and gadget. An outstanding variety of offerings that are seemingly never on backorder"

    Some questions

Will Chef's Resource ever become totally national? Ship to all the states in the US? Isn't the eCommerce of kitchen supplies an almost saturated market? Not including all physical stores that this web site competes against.
