Being a mother does not mean you’re doomed to haus frau, baby momma status forever. There is a life beyond motherhood, this isn’t the 1950’s. Thus we have BeyondMotherhood. Started by a mother, it’s a job board for mothers. The jobs offered are flexible—many allow telecommuting and others are part time or require minimal office presence. There are jobs in all categories. Women can filter their job search by type, minimum and maximum hours required and keywords. They can apply directly from the site after they’ve registered. Employers on the other hand can reach an untapped work source. Ads can be posted for as little as $75 for one post. 4o posts goes for $1,480. Registering is free.

Mothers are a talented bunch who aren’t about to sit down and play house wife. BeyondMotherhood gives them a resource to find the types of jobs they want. Rather than having to search for hours looking for just the right hours and schedule, they can simply come to this site and save time. Employers can also find workers to work seasonally, virtually or on a one time basis.

This site would do well to add more networking features—profiles, discussion groups, blogs. Also editorial content about finding jobs and balancing work and home life would make the site more rounded. Currently, there aren’t many jobs posted.
