It may be sad but true: our work defines us. And while there are thousands of blogs devoted to the “real” us- our inner chef, our suppressed literary critic- there are few devoted to where we spend the majority of time. WhereWeDo WhatWeDo is a collection of user-uploaded workspaces that are strung together to form a project that is artistic, relatable, and strangely intimate. Some workspaces show tranquil gardens, other cubicles full of clutter, and one even shows a man passed out on the floor. What is clear is that the web... read more

Still a work in progress, Giantrealm has already been able to raise $5.5 million in its first round of funding, making this male entertainment portal worth keeping an eye on. The site is divided into four main sections: Gaming, Film and TV, Music, and Gadgets. A look at the gaming section shows this site to be part gossipy news and part downloads. There is an option to search the entire site or to limit the search within each individual category. While the site is far from finished, it appears to be heavily focused on the 18-30 year-old male crowd that spend hours a day playing games and s... read more

Musicplace is a site that allows you to search for your favorite bands and artists, play streaming songs, download mp3s and make purchases online. Just enter the band you are interested about in the search box and Musicplace quickly gives you the top songs from the band and also the top albums which you can click on and in many cases listen to the entire album online. The shopping function currently does bring back results but still requires further work since the webmaster is Brazilian and the prices are in Reals and there is often no way to purchase if you are based in the US or Europe.
