With the summer almost behind us, it’s time to turn thoughts to what to get your friends and family (and what they can get you) for holiday gifts. If you’re stumped, check out your-wishlist.com for ideas. On this new site, you can build you own wishlist by adding items to your shopping cart from the your-wishlist database. Conversely, you can browse the wishlists of others to figure out what to get them. You can rate items, make comments on each other’s lists and share them with friends and family via email (the site plans on offering add-ons for social networking sites like MySpace in the near future). You can also download the dashboard widget (Mac OS X Tiger only).

This site could be a useful tool for busy families who don’t have time to create traditional pen-and paper wishlists; it’s convenient that you can store and email wishlists to friends and family members. The interface, as advertised, is uncluttered and makes navigability a breeze.

Some of the features on your-wishlist don’t function correctly; it was difficult to determine the depth of the product search database because it wasn’t working at the time of this review. Is the search powered by Amazon or any other massive product search engine? The site is slightly behind in terms of add-ons offered; Facebook and Orkut already offer several applications that let you create and share wishlists.
