The world wide web offers a plethora of possibilities; it will cater to all your various whims and interests; but you have to know how to find and where to look for things that pique your curiosity. The problem that a great deal of people encounter is habit. We read the same blogs, check out the same newspapers and technology sites, day in, day out. Occasionally, you´ll click on a link and find something marvelous, or not. You know that there are other things out there, but the sheer immensity of the web might make it difficult for you to part from your beloved daily favs, and searching through all the trash to find the gems just does not sound like fun. Well, Yoono knows that as well, that´s why they´ve come up with a service that lets you find and explore sites that are relevant to your interests. How it works: while you surf your normal rounds, Yoono displays a list of other sites that have been rated by other surfers like you. You can peek into fellow ‘yoosers´ shared bookmarks to see related sites which might be of interest to you. You can subscribe to community shared folders which will be displayed in your Favorites tab. There´s also a surprise button which will generate random suggestions based on your favorites. No registration is required; just download the add-on and you´ll find suggested sites on the Yoono moving ticker and the sidebar. Give it a try.

“Yoono originated when several friends found the need to rapidly exchange information without necessarity having to contact each other. They came up with a program which could effortlessly centralize, share and broadcast their selection of information. By extension, they imagined a service based on word of mouth which allowed them to bring together web users around common interests.

Yoono lets you expand your internet experience without having to really change your habits. The ticker allows you to see other sites that might be of interest and it makes searching more friendly. It´s community driven.

Yoono is very similar to StumbleUpon and Sphere. The former doesn´t have a ticker which some might find too distracting, and it seems more user friendly. Yoono also seems still a bit rough, the integration with your normal browsing isn´t as refined as it could be.
