WordChanging.com - Making the World a Better Place

    worldchanging

WorldChanging is in the business of making a difference. They strive to connect people with and through technology in order to spur on change. In order to achieve this, they collect and write reviews, articles and links having to do with emerging tools and technology that are innovating the ways in which we work and live. Subjects range from infrastructure and nanotechnology to transparency in politics and smart mobs. You’ll find six main categories by which stories are divided: Shelter, Cities, Community, Business, Politics and Planet. Besides the articles featured in each respective category, ChangingWorld provides links to further reading material—treaties, manifestos, stats, essays, definitions, etc. They do employ over fifty writers from all around the world, however community feedback, suggestions and comments are always encouraged. A WorldChanging book is also available featuring six hundred pages of innovative solutions for building a brighter future.

    In their own words

“WorldChanging.com works from a simple premise: that the tools, models and ideas for building a better future lie all around us. That plenty of people are working on tools for change, but the fields in which they work remain unconnected. That the motive, means and opportunity for profound positive change are already present. That another world is not just possible, it's here.

We only need to put the pieces together.
Informed by that premise, we do our best to bring you links to (and analysis of) those tools, models and ideas in a timely and concise manner. We don't do negative reviews – why waste your time with what doesn't work? We don't offer critiques or exposes, except to the extent that such information may be necessary for the general reader to apprehend the usefulness of a particular tool or resource. We don't generally offer links to resources which are about problems and not solutions, unless the resource is so insightful that its very existence is a step towards a solution. We pay special attention to tools, ideas and models that may have been overlooked in the mass media. We make a point of showing ways in which seemingly unconnected resources link together to form a toolkit for changing the world.”

Why it might be a killer

WorldChanging is aiming to change the way we live, for the better. Their site is intelligent, well thought out and it’s conversant. They don’t post polemic screeds or lectures, rather they compile though provoking, and original articles about technologies that very may alter the future for the better.

    Some questions

How are article topics selected? Will they add a discussion board or forums?
