WhoBuilt.it - Claim The Sites You Have Built

    whobuilt

WhoBuilt.it is solution aiming to let any person receive his due credit for his web designing skills. That is, those who have designed a site can use this new service in order to claim them, and let everybody know that any given online location is actually their own work.

Claiming a site itself entails a short registration process whereby you must specify your personal name and provide your e-mail address. The idea is that you provide your own name instead of the name of a company, and that makes sense – if in two months’ time you change your job, that information would become obsolete and some updating would be mandatory.

On the other hand, the site includes a search functionality that lets you know who has worked on what. The main page also lists the sites that have been claimed as of late, whereas those that are best-loved by members of the online community are likewise individualized underneath the “Likes” banner.

Features that are planned for upcoming updates include the ability to add editable descriptions to any site you claim, and also a downloadable form for accelerating the whole process. A Firefox extension is likewise underway.

    In their own words

“Sick of getting no credit for the cool sites you make? Whobuilt.it lets you claim the sites you build!”

Why it might be a killer

This service ensures that everything is in its right place, and that no design effort would be discredited.

    Some questions

How many sites have already been claimed?
