vi.sualize.us is another social bookmarking site for images, which functions similarly to other social bookmarking sites of this genre that have recently become popular. For those familiar with visual bookmarking sites like Photagr, vi.sualize.us will seem very familiar; you can tag photos, store them in your account, and share them with friends. You can browse images by user or tag, or run a keyword search. vi.sualize.us sorts all submissions automatically by date submitted, so the main page only features the newest images. Although the site is Spanish, the interface text is all in English and you can search in either of the two languages to yield fruitful results.

"vi.sualize.us is a social bookmarking website for visual contents — vi.sualize.us (read visualize us) allows you to remember your favorite images around the web, and share them with everyone".
| Why it might be a killer | |||
|

Given the popularity of visual social bookmarking, vi.sualize.us could have some spillover from the throngs of users flocking to such sites. It offers a pleasant interface and would be a good site for social bookmarking beginners.

For me, there's really nothing new here. In fact, vi.sualize.us lacks some of the features that other similar sites offer; for instance, you can't build a personal profile nor can you comment on photos. The site doesn't let you view images by anything other than date submitted, which is more than a little irksome, and there really isn't too much of a web 2.0 here at all. I'm not a fan of the del.icio.us name rip-off either, which I feel is a microcosm of the rest of the site's features; in this genre of web 2.0, you really need to be more creative and offer truly unique features to beat out the competition.

| Thanks for your comments! Please, think I released vi.sualize.us on Monday, and it's just starting! I realized there are lack of many many features, but they are on their way (at least on my mind ;)). There's not a company behind it, just me and my spare time so give me a breath! :) About the "beat out the competition" part, I'm not thinking in beating out anyone. My goal is just to offer a good and useful service, and therefore a good and useful application. For example, the way you post an image in vi.sualize.us is by far much confortable than other solutions around. Have you tried it? ;) Also take into account this is not the typical webapp launched by a company to get into the web2.0 flow. This comes from a personal need that I had.Could you please elaborate a little more why you didn't consider it a web2.0? Lack of API? (foreseen) Lack of social component? (btw, profiles are also foreseen ;)) I don't fully understand what defines a webapp 2.0 for you, but in any case it doesn't mind, as I said, if the webapp is useful for the people: what does it mind if it's 2.0 or 1.5?Anyway, thank you very much for the critics. It's good to hear from other people opinions! | ||
