TweetsGiving.org - Thanksgiving Time

As its name aptly implies, TweetsGiving is an initiative that aims to demonstrate the power of Twitter and the social web as a whole by spreading gratitude and raising funds for a classroom in Tanzania. In this sense, TweetsGiving can be defined as a Twitter celebration of goodwill and gratitude.

This endeavor is being carried out by Epic Change, a not-for-profit organization, and in order to participate all you have to do is either tweet including the #TweetsGiving tag and a link which is provided or by following @TweetsGiving. Of course, it is also possible to make donations and buy gifts at the Epic Change online store.

The site includes a “Top Turkeys” section that highlights the top Twitterers that have joined the cause so far, as well as links to sponsors such as The Kbuzz.

Initiatives like this one act as a true showcase of what can be achieved by applying the latest developments to current issues and problems calling for attention. Let’s hope similar endeavors keep on coming along.
