A novel idea that some might deem as too much, this new Twitter-related service enables anybody to follow a dead personality and receive tweets as if he or she were alive. You just choose your personality from the provided list and you will become a follower on the spot, receiving his or her updates the usual way.

You can even reply to them and retweet the ones you like best.



The list itself includes personalities from all through history, and from different countries as well. Some featured names: Oscar Wilde, Edgar Allan Poe, Confucius, Goethe, Pablo Neruda and Napoleon Bonaparte. Most tellingly (and most controversially) you can follow figures like Jesus Christ and Buddha.

Personally, I understand the emergence of services such as this one, and while I do not actively follow them I can understand that some people will find them amusing or enlightening. The execution, though, is not what I would call appropriate or even in good taste. Just have a look at Jesus Christ’s tweets and you will see what I mean.
