Truetube is a debate site that brings debates to another level by adding a video aspect to the site which is not available on most debating sites. Instead of posting ideas and comments on debate questions Truetube allows users to express themselves even more by allowing them to upload their own debates. Truetube provides editing tools for users to use along with real time text debates. No matter where you are in the world you can make your voice heard by posting your own video or by commenting on video debates that are on the site. Truetube features a video of the day and competitions for users to get involved in. The debate topics on Truetube are controversial and important topics, you won’t find any debates on which flavor of ice cream is better than the other. The debate topics range from abortion to race. There is a teachers section which is a great resource. Truetube has a very attractive interface, the information on the site is concise and thorough. Adding the video feature really is a great idea for a debate site. Seeing a person’s emotions and dedication to a topic is translated much easier through film than through a text message. The Truetube e –letter is a great way to stay up to date with recent debate topics. The teacher section is a great resource, my favorite part of class was when we would debate.
