Treedia.com - Get Fed: The Feed-Based Media Solution

    treedia

Cambridge-based Treedia Labs develops feed-based media and brings it to your device of choice—mobile, iPod, internet radio, Xbox, PC or TV. Treedia works on the basis that media can be distributed through RSS feeds. It’s powerful platform—called the Treedia Feed Management Platform (TFMP)-- has the ability to handle audio, video, and text while maximizing today’s leading social media platforms and community driven technologies. TFMP aggregates, organizes, transcodes and distributes RSS feeds to devices that go beyond current limitations of feed-based content. Among Treedia’s launched brands are Podcast.com, and Videocast.com. Podcast.com hosts over 40,000 podcasts available for consumption on the web and on your phone. With Podcast.com, you can develop and share your media content while keeping it manageable and organized. Videocast.com is yet to be released, but will follow along the same lines as Podcast.com. Both services are free.

    In their own words

“Treedia labs is the leading developer of feed-based media technology, brands and communities. Treedia’s platform combines feed technology with social media curation and distributes it to the web, mobile devices, internet radio, and set-top boxes.”

Why it might be a killer

Treedia labs offers a good feed-based media solution. Its development of the popular Podcast.com and its upcoming Videocast.com show much promise and innovation. It also has plenty of funding and support from investors.

    Some questions

Is Treedia’s RSS-based media solution a thing to be treasured or trashed? There’s a lot of popular competition out there—YouTube and Joost among them—will Treedia survive?
