TravelSkoot.com is a site powered through Google Map that lets users geographically illustrate their travel plans. With this online tool, they can plot their future travel locations, recommended spots, places already visited, and desired destinations. Maps are filed under categories, making it easy for users to search other users’ maps. Topics such as “Movie Locations of New York City” and “Chicago Comedy” let users identify and share their favorite destination points. Not only can site visitors access TravelSkoot on their PC, but they also can view the page on WAP-enabled mobile phones.

In their own words
“Skoot is a map mash-up site that allows users to plan a single day's adventure, a historical tour, their favorite places in a city, or a full week's vacation by simply plotting points on the map! Be it a rigidly scheduled pub-crawl with friends one night, or a historical walking tour, TravelSkoot provides the tools for you to create your personalized activity.”
Why it might be a killer
TravelSkoot is a great tool for individuals and business. Local tours, daytrips, and various other excursions within close proximity that need geographic planning could definitely benefit from the organization and simplicity of this mash-up. However, the site is simple and needs to be revamped to hold the attention of site users.
Some questions
What additional features can be added to the site? How can the site interface be individualized? What other example maps can be showcased on the site?
