In their own words
"Create meetings for any purpose, wherever you may be. Invite friends to join you for coffee, drinks or any other activity. Or post invites describing people you would like to meet. Keep the meeting location private until you decide who attends. Email addresses and communications with people who accept your invite remain private.
If there's a meeting nearby that interests you, accept the invite. If the meeting organizer approves, you may attend. Sign up for RSS feeds to learn of posted invites that match your search criteria."
Why it might be a killer
TravelersTable.com has an attractive interface and is easy to navigate. Once you have decided to go to a meeting, TravelersTable.com sends you reminders about your meeting, so you don't forget. This is a crucial feature, because people today are always so busy. You can choose your privacy settings for your profile. You can make any information in your profile private, besides your user name. This is important because your privacy is something very personal that should be protected. It is exciting to see sites that actually encourage people to meet in the flesh.
Some questions
At the moment there only seems to be meetings in the East Coast area, hopefully TravelersTable.com will grow to include all of the States in the United States and maybe eve go Global, but this all depends on the users, who becomes involved and where they are from. TravelersTable.com should include groups in its social network. There could be education groups that focus on meetings that are educational. With user groups it would be easier to find the type of people you are looking to meet.
