In their own words
"TeamPages provides a central location for teams, athletes and fans to organize and share all aspects of their sporting events. Members can post and check their schedules, check out the latest team news and photos, receive reminders about game and practice information, collect donations and showcase sponsors, and track team and personal statistics.
TeamPages also allows teams to connect. Whether local or across the continent, coaches and players can share tips and drills, arrange exhibition games and tournaments, share memories, and ultimately keep their relationships going after they have left the field".
Why it might be a killer
This is a great way for athletes to stay up-to-date on their team's schedule. It expedites communication by allowing for one-click team messaging. With TeamPages you won't have to worry about who is supposed to call who, who is supposed to email who, etc; you can find all relevant scheduling information right in one place. Especially useful are the maps and directions to away games; no more passing out Xeroxed copies of questionably legible hand-written directions at practice.
Some questions
It's not entirely clear who will be in charge of each team's membership. Can anyone make changes to the schedule, or does TeamPages require that each team specify an administrator, like a coach, who alone can modify the schedule? Can TeamPages use a service like GoogleMaps to generate directions automatically, or must maps be uploaded separately from another site?
