    Tagzania.com - Tagging the World

    tagzania

Tagzania’s mission is to tag the whole world. Think they’re a little over-zealous for such a new start up? Check out their website at Tagzania.com and see for yourself. Register and log into the service and even you can contribute to tagging the planet, by placing points on places and creating and documenting your own maps. Once you’ve added a location, you add your tag keywords. It’s that simple, and with a few tags every day, in no time we could rid the world of taglessness. Tagzania also features GeoRSS feeds that feature encoded location information.

    In their own words

Tagzania is about tags and places. If you register and log in, you can add places, points, to create and document your maps. When you add a point, you may tag it with keywords. That way, Tagzania is not only a place to build and keep your own maps, shared territories are created as well.

Why it might be a killer

I like the idea of a “shared territory.” We’re noticing a lot of startups that are mashing up maps with ideas, memories, photos, tags, going along with this idea that we share the same land so why not make a space to document it in a unique, meaningful way? There’s already some great user generated documented maps, like the Migration of the Monarch Butterfly.

    Some questions

How can they encourage users to start tagging and start submitting their creative maps? Could they create a community of people who are documenting trips and want to tag them?
