Talk about ambitious, StoryofMyLife shoots to collect the life stories of everyone, yes everyone-- past, present, and future--who has ever set foot on earth. To accomplish this extreme goal, SoML will let you set down your life’s story complete with videos and pictures. Of course, if you want your legacy to last, you’ll have to dish out a one time fee of $19 for 20MB of story space, and something like $400 for 500MB if you’re really into yourself. Sound a tad steep? You can donate to SoML (who have the great honor of hosting your story) and write it off as charity. There are several options to format your story. You can write it like a book, with chapters, or you can use the blog-like journal function for notes and random bits. There is a separate ‘vault’ strictly for housing and sharing your pics and videos. You can build a family tree and connect your relatives’ stories; same can be done with groups and friends. Privacy settings allow you to limit access to your account and stories.

The Story of My Life™ site helps you build an interactive and rich, 360-degree view of who you are: your accomplishments, your feelings and thoughts, your narrative – the essence of who you are and what you will leave behind. Oh, and we can even help with those taxes - you can donate to the nonprofit Foundation which is honored with perpetually preserving your Life Story! www.StoryOfMyLifeFoundation.org.”

Why can’t you add photos directly to your book or journal? Are more multimedia options on the way? Widgets?

| :) it's actually $1 per MB so you can be as narcissistic or as humble as you'd like. The main thing that we're striving for (beyond yes, collecting stories from everyone) is to connect them, so that in 10, 100, 1000 years your great-great-great-grandchildren are reading what you wrote today by working back through their connections. Oh and you can add any files directly to your Stories AND/OR store them in your Vault. The entire site is inter-connected - and more to come! | ||
