    SocialActions.com - FundRaising Aggregator

    socialactions

Montreal based SocialActions is a fund raising campaign aggregator powered by Drupal. It indexes Kiva, ChangingthePresent, FirstGiving, BrightLight, Change.org, Fundable, Razoo and SixDegrees among others. Users can search for campaigns via platform, theme, location, or by using the traditional search bar. Each proposed action can be rated Digg-style by community members. Besides indexing social fundraising campaigns, SocialActions helps people start their own by offering advice (check out the fundraising 101 section, as well as the ‘How to use the internet for group fundraising’ article), widgets to promote actions in their area, and a forum for discussion. Additionally, users can sign up for a daily email.

    In their own words

“Social Actions aggregates group fundraising campaigns and helps people to start their own. The site was created by Peter Deitz.
Learn how to initiate a social action in support of your favorite cause.
Use a widget to promote social actions in your city or area of interest.”

Why it might be a killer

Social Actions rallies people together, uniting them to raise money for good causes. By indexing fund raising campaigns, the site calls attention to the necessity of fund raisin, and its popularity. The site also has ample information about how to get started and how to achieve the best results.

    Some questions

This site has no visible source of income, there’s no advisory boards nor ads, so how is it going to stay afloat? Will people really be inspired by this, will they know how to use it?
