    ShowBeyond.com - Share Your Slideshows

    showbeyond

Showbeyond is a new real time image aggregating tool which lets you create, share, search for, and embed slideshows. To use Showbeyond, start by signing up for an account and creating a mini personal profile. You can then upload your images from your desktop, by url, or from Picassa. You can append a description for each image frame, and you can spice up your show too by adding a sound clip or song to be played in the background while your show is running. Showbeyond will automatically configure the duration between slides and the orientation of each images (based on image ration) automatically; however, you can perform these actions manually as well. When you're done with your show, you will be presented with multiple options for sharing it; you can make it public or keep it private, and naturally you can tag it and embed it on your blog. If you're looking for other people's shows, you can search by keyword, user, or tag, and comment on the shows. If you're watching a show that intrigues you, you also have a slew of options for sharing and/or storing it (you can bookmark it, add the user as a fan, post it on Facebook, or add it to your favorites).

    In their own words

"Welcome to Showbeyond! Showbeyond is a multimedia slideshow creator, online publishing platform, and story sharing community. With Showbeyond, you can easily grab your images, then add your sound and text to create multimedia stories. Now you can share your stories with friends or post to blogs and social networking sites!"

Why it might be a killer

One category in which Showbeyond shines is ease of searching and sharing. The options you're presented with while watching a show itself are pretty unique; you can add an author to your favories, for example, and easily access their other shows.

    Some questions

I don't think Showbeyond is quite at the level of competitors such as Slideoo and Photobucket yet; length of shows is restricted to 24 frames and it doesn't synch with any other similar applications. Also irksome is the lack of a scrolling or skipping button that lets you jump from slide to slide with ease.
