Shopalize.com - Answering the Question What Did You Buy?

    shopalize

Shopalize has taken a cue from Twitter et. al., and operates on the basis of one simple question: What did you buy today? Essentially what you´ll find is a semi international catalogue of what people have bought around the world. Users can create their own profile and upload pictures of their buys. In fact, whenever you update your product listing, you´ll have to include a photo of it. You can also include a brief description and a tag for later searches. Your updates can also be bookmarked. The site is really quite new, so it´s still got a bit of greenness to it. The community of Shopalizers isn´t too grand yet but the current featured shopping gets include a Louis Vuitton handbag, a German record called Tanz der Lemminge, handcuffs, Bruno Frisoni shoes, and a black meteor ring. The site if it does catch on could be an interesting study of shopping trends around the world.

    In their own words

“A global community of people sharing their shopping experience by answering one question:

Why it might be a killer

Given the popularity of instant, light communication projects such as Twitter, Shopalize could very well become a hit; it´s a simple concept really, but it does hold some interest; it could provide an overall view of worldwide shopping habits, and it could develop into a nice shopping community if more features were added.

    Some questions

So far the site hasn´t got a whole lot of users, which is crucial and it´s got very limited functionality. If it´s going to make it, the site would be wise to add more community based features even product reviews and mobile phone compatibility so people can update while they´re actually shopping.
