SharedReader follows along the same path as Google Reader and ReadBurner. It’s a reader for the most popular feeds on Google. SharedReader is brought to you from the mind of developer Dennes B. Abing, who as a fan of Google Reader, wanted something more personal for his feeds. If you have Google Reader, you can use their Shared Item Feed to paste the URL of an item that interests you to SharedReader's site. SharedReader then organizes the data in such a way that it showcases the most shared items and therefore, the most popular items from Google Reader. The theory goes that the most shared items are the best ones. You can view SharedReader’s top sharers, the most popular posts, and recent posts. As of now, the site is in beta. It’s interface is sleek and simple and it’s completely free to use.

SharedReader taps into a resource that Google has yet to do: figuring out what’s most popular in Google Reader. It’s a straightforward app that lets you find out pertinent news and lets you contribute what you think ought to be news. Google Reader users are sure to enjoy it.
Can SharedReader beat the competition? SharedReader doesn’t have all the features of the also newly launched ReadBurner. It’s site is relatively sparse and Dennes Abing’s About Us page is rather perplexing. Will SharedReader bring more to the table or get left behind?
