Basically, Shadows functions exactly like Foxmarks or LinkDoozer; users create an account and start sharing sites that they feel are interesting or useful in respect to a certain topic. Users can also comment on links of others, add friends, and join groups on the site. You can also control the privacy settings of your account; links can be kept private or made public for the rest of the Shadows community to view and modify. Like Foxmarks, you can take your collection of bookmarks with you wherever you go; you can access your saved links from any computer.

Like any social bookmarking site, Shadows is extremely useful in terms of helping people expand their collection of bookmarks and learn more about what the internet has to offer them by putting them in touch with other opinionated community members.

What services does Shadows provide that are different from its competitors, if any? I tried several generic search terms ("cats", "cars", etc), and nothing turned up; is the database really this limited? It seems incongruous considering the relatively high Alexa ranking.
