RootZoo.com - For the Sports Fan In You

    rootzoo

RootZoo is the place where sports fans can talk sports. RootZoo lets fans talk about what excites them in the world of sports. Users can submit articles, chat in threads, and get points for doing so. Articles are featured in a Digg-like platform, allowing you to vote for your favorite articles. Being a sports page, there is a competitive element. Points accrued go towards free prizes. They can be earned through participation in forums, boards, posting articles, picking the next winning team, or even participating in sports polls. There are other bonuses to the points system. For example, once you reach level two, or over 500 points, you can create your own polls. Those with the most points are featured on the LeaderBoard and are eligible for goodies like gift certificates, Super Bowl tix, and xbox 360s or even Wiis. RootZoo covers everything a sports fan could want. There’s also a store for RootZoo aficionados.

    In their own words

“So here’s the deal. For years, we sports fans have been spoon-fed with information. We get our stats online and read what the experts have to say, but have little room to express our own opinions. As sports fans, not only are we opinionated, but very often our opinions are the right ones, aren’t they? We fans have lacked a unifying website that allows us to talk freely with each other. Sometimes we've heard enough of the so-called experts because sometimes they just don't get it. It’s time for the fans to speak.”

Why it might be a killer

RootZoo may attract sports fans the world over. It’s got a good user-friendly interface and all the elements a fanatic would want to keep up to date with the world of sports and keep in touch with his fellow sports fans.

    Some questions

Can RootZoo get enough sports fans to become RootZoo fans? Will fans be hooked or would they rather stick to watching sports and enjoying the company of real live people?
