MoneyExchange is a web-based alternative for sending and receiving money. A service like this stands as a convenient way of exchanging money with friends and colleagues who are also accountholders, not to mention online retailers. The system is actually free – registration is inexpensive, and the same goes for sending and receiving money.
A “How It Works” subsection provides insight into the system and its implementation. Basically, once you have signed up you must designate a bank account to link to your MoneyExchange account. Then, you provide the e-mail address of the person you wish to send money to and select the amount. In this step of the process you must also include a personalized message that will accompany the request that is sent to the other party. Once the person receiving the payment accepts this request, you receive a confirmation e-mail. It the intended recipient is not yet an accountholder, he can become one easily upon receiving the payment.
As it should be the case, the website places a lot of emphasis on the security considerations at play. A PIN is required for sending money from a MoneyExchange account, and the security features are listed one by one on the site. The current transaction limits are described as well.
