In their own words
“Deployed onto the internet 2 days ago, ResumeRace is a new experimental web application revolving around work resumes. It has the philosophy that instead of blindlessly sending one's resume to every employer, that one should focus on one's self and reflect upon thyself first. Only then, will each person be more true to themselves, thus increases the chances of finding the perfect job. Why this and not other sites? The way career type sites deal with resumes is that workers post their resume(s). A head hunter, which usually has no knowledge of the job seeker's talents, tries to sort through the pile of resumes. The problem is with the job market as hard as it is, potential employees ends up submitting their resumes to any kind of industry they can. Employers get overwhelmed. With ResumeRace, the first step we ask is to rate yourself among various questions when you join. You'll then post your resume(s), including a cover letter if you have it. Then invite others who's in the same category of industry. You'll be rating resumes in your field, while others rate yours. Everyone is anonymous when rating.”
Why it might be a killer
It is quite a well-focused initiative, as it brings greater human input and presence into the whole process of finding a job.
