    RainDance.tv - Indie Films Go Web 2.0

    raindance

For you indie movie lovers, it's not easy getting the kind of content you crave-- Hollywood blockbusters abound. And, should you be unluckily enough to live in a small non-indie friendly city, then you're stuck with a dvd and a subscription to Netflix. Luckily, there's Raindance, brought to us by the creators of BIFA, the premiere indie film fest that's had a number of well known indie cred on its roster -- Tarantino, Ken Loach, Iggy Pop etc. And now, Raindance has gone Web 2.0. The site is called Raindance.tv and it's got tons of alternative and indie features and films. What's more, RainDance recently closed a deal with partners (including Vuze, Joost and Daily Motion) to provide content. Royalties and a cut of revenues are given to filmmakers as well. There are more features to come. Join to watch and enjoy.

    In their own words

"Raindance.tv. Dedicated to fostering and promoting indie films and filmmakers. Based in the heart of London, and streaming out to you worldwide, we offer the best off-beat shorts, features and docs from Raindance and our network of filmmakers. Anyone with a laptop and a broadband connection can join us. And join the 300,000 others who have already watched us in the last five months, via our 10 media platforms."

Why it might be a killer

Raindance is a place to find films off the beaten path. It's a great site to check out what new talent there is and it'll foster a community of filmmaking and talent.

    Some questions

How will they make enough profit? Is Raindance.tv going to become a hit? Will it be able to find new talent?
