PoliTwitter.ca - Canadian Politics Meet Twitter

This new resource stands as the first Canadian political Twitter site and it intends to have a broader scope than other countries’ political Twitter mashups doing the rounds such as TweetCongress.

The site compiles tweets and it also keeps track of political hashtags. As far as the visualization of such data is concerned, you can have tweets displayed by actual partisan party affiliation, province and also MP.

In addition to gathering together all the relevant tweets, Politwitter doubles as a complete Twitter.com replacement, since those who visit the site are able to tweet, retweet, post pics, shorten URLs & more directly from the site.

Lastly, note that a widget is provided for you to have access to the relevant information whenever you want, and wherever you are on the WWW.

All in all, a nice online destination from our friends up north. It is also the first Twitter-related site that is geared towards a Canadian public that I remember reviewing, and that is a good thing on my book.

I have not seen that many Twitter pages that were aimed at Canadian audiences. This is a good addition to the cause.
